High engine temp

#1 Post by ccarey 1030 » Sun Apr 14, 2019 5:24 pm

So I had an issue on a long ride. New bike under 200 miles. Let getting too hot and warning sensor going off. Luckily, husband was installing new lights and noticed a cover on the radiator was not removed by dealer. This solved the problem.

Manufacturer installs safety shield for radiator that clearly says “REMOVE”. Dealer did not remove. Once removed problem was solved. O

I honestly think that's why most people are having issues with their Rykers. It seems the dealers are not doing a thorough job prepping the machines. Hopefully the high engine temp didn't cause long term problems for you. Did you contact the dealership about it?

I had the same exact issue. I posted a few days ago with this issue. Dealership has yet to contact me. I am wondering if this would be my issue. If so, that would be great.

Somewhere I saw a time-lapse video of a dealer doing a setup of a new Ryker. More like final assembly - it's really quite involved. A lot of things to keep track of.
That said, there is presumably a step-by-step procedure to follow, checklists, etc. and I would think that previous experience setting up Spyders would help a lot.

I did contact the dealer. I have yet to receive a response. Hopefully there is not lasting damage.
