clunk noise

#1 Post by dmsc89 » Mon Mar 23, 2020 10:02 am

Hi all!
I just turned 50 miles on my 20' 600. I hear a clunk when starting forward, and in reverse. Is that something
that will go away after a while. Or should I be concerned. Thanks

Hi, the cvt needs to engage and it makes a slight clunk sound.
It sounded strange to me at first also.

I rode both a 600 and a 900 at MSF class and both made that sound.

After awhile it will be a habit when you start off how to ease into the throttle not to clunk or at least a very minimal clunk. Wifey is still learning on hers but i have been really good not clunking mine....lol

when I shift mine, I listen for a click in the transmission. If I don't hear it, I roll it back a little bit so it clicks. If you don't it clunks pretty loud sometimes. It only takes a minute to do that so it doesn't clunk. I don't think that the clunk is good for it.
