Heated Gloves for cold weather riding

#1 Post by Nitop » Sun Feb 09, 2020 6:50 pm

Looking at getting heated gloves for occasional winter riding when we are lucky enough to get a sunny non-windy day. Don't want to spend too much and saw some USB powered heated gloves on Amazon. Anyone have any experience with these? Does anyone know what the power output of the Ryker USB ports are? Would welcome any other suggestions.

I have used those chemical hand warmers for the occasional cold day trip. They did ok but would not want to go for a long distance ride with them.

Don't know about the USB powered gloves , but run my heated gear through battery tender hook up cable, and it works great...currently using Gerbing vanguard gloves....I do have a dual controller to adjust temperatures for gloves and jacket.

I was wondering about using the battery tender cable, which my ryker does have. So is the Gerbing gloves' wiring is compatible with the tender cable or did you have to modify anything?

I purchased these:

They're pretty good down to the 40's. I wore them once when it hit the 30's. They kept my hands warm, but the chill did come through in some of the fingers. I recommend these only for 40 degrees and up. My rides were for about half an hour.
