According to BRP's manual, the engine oil on my 600 Ryker should be changed at 6.000 mile intervals.
I can't believe I should wait that long for it's first change. I know most motorcycles call for the initial oil change at 600 miles. The dealer balked at my requesting that for the Ryker. Are any of you debating this with the dealer?

I did mine at about 600 miles. Then have continued to change oil and filter at every 3000. I use Mobil 1 and the factory OEM filter. In my mind frequent oil and filter changes are cheap insurance. I also do my own routine maintenance. Dealer will see me for warranty items only. JMHO.
