See something missing?

Both sides were missing Cotter Pins

I noted same issue with my dealer, they agreed seemed odd that it designed for pins but not installed. On checking service and build instructions with BRP they said not required due to nylon lock nuts used, i not totally comfortable with that so i put pins in myself. Right or wrong i feel more at ease.

But you could clearly see if they somehow backed off.
