You already have 3000 miles on your Ryker? Thats the first oil change per the maintenance schedule unless heavy use/dusty conditions..

Where is a Maintenance Schedule? Can you cite a page number from the Owner Manual? This topic has cropped up on the forum several times. Some posters have recommended the first oil change at 6,000 miles while others have stated as low as 2,000 miles.

My book reads 6,000 miles. I drained it at 800 miles to measure and see how much was actually in it. 3.5 quarts.
When I first got the bike and saw a dip stick ,I was happy. Then I discovered the truth about the dip stick routine. You cant just check the oil anytime.
So many people are going to be overfilling the oil. The oil is not pure synthetic so 6000 miles will really lower the viscosity of the oil .
I think every 3000 would be the max I will go.

Yes, Operators Manual says EVERY YEAR OR EVERY 10 000 KM (6,000 MI) (WHICHEVER COMES FIRST). Page 91
