Oh, Come On! Part Of Front Fender Somehow Broke Off

#1 Post by Aufgeblssen47 » Sun Sep 15, 2019 5:05 am

I have no idea how/why or when it happened. Just looked at at when parked and it looked odd until I realized what happened. :opps:

Anyone else see/hear of something like this?

Much of what broke off was attached to inner fender piece, and not hard mounted. I wonder if it vibrates and fatigues the plastic where it broke?

Update: Upon examination, said piece indeed flaps with road bumps/vibration!!! Plastic fatigue exactly what happened.

Interesting, one would think if it was vibration the cause of this then there would be many more failures. Especially on Rally editions where they spend time in worst conditions.

True, unless the plastic was not molded quite properly.

One I get fixed under warranty, I'm gonna try to figure out how to rivet metal plates on both sides underneath to strengthen.

Hopefully warranty will cover it.

I've always wondered what would happen to that flap if someone stepped on it.

Update! I contacted Can-Am about the issue, but they don't really have a technical support I could talk to about the issue. They just said bring it to my nearest dealer.
