Insurance quotes?

#1 Post by WinTheDay » Fri Oct 19, 2018 10:43 pm

Has anyone gotten insurance quotes on one of these yet? New to the Trike world and online quotes don’t have the Rykers added yet. Running the numbers for a Spyder F3 it’s kicking back some crazy high rates compared to traditional motorcycle rates.

I did myself a quote through Geico for a Ryker with the understanding I already have a truck and a home. I quoted out the 600, 900, and the Rally. The 600 and 900 quotes were equal at 331.00 a year. The Rally for whatever reason was double that. Even though it has the same engine as the 900. Hope that helps.

I use Bikesure, quotes come back same as for a spyder, and much cheaper than other trikes, ie Boom, and Rewako

To be fair, quotes from northern states will usually be the lowest, Why ,because the insurance companys know that the bike will spend about half its life in storage
because its WINTER. In the south we usually ride 12 months a year so more exposure to bad things happening.
When I lived up north only thing I rode from Nov to april was the snowblower. LOL

Note: We in Texas being a border state also must have uninsured motorist insurance that adds about $200, to the bill.
To many people driving unregistered.uninsured cars. If they hit you , sorry,

Progressive is insuring me for less than $160 per year in Florida. I have 2 cars insured with them and a pretty good credit score, so I know that price is lower than normal.
