if you have your bike on sport mode then your mileage goes way down in you have your bike on E C O mode then you do not have alot of take off speed but you get alot more mileage depending on how you ride and fuel injector cleaner and high octane gas will always improve your gas mileage the choice is yours

Urban legend that higher octane than needed increases MPG.

Ryker will get better mpg as you pile some miles. I have the 2019 Rally only ride in Sport Mode. First 2000 miles were 29-38 but my last 2 fill ups were 42 mpg. I now have 2300 miles and only used recommended 87 octane.

I've compared a full tankful of PREMIUM to a full tankful of regular doing identical riding.

Premium MPG was 33.4

Regular MPG was 33.6.

A totally waste of money using premium.

Well maybe but I've been tolled from motor heads that you should get little more, if anything your going to have a more cleaner engine and less wear on parts. It burns more efficiently, but it might depend on your motor, my 1300 sj Suzuki loved premium and got extra km out of a tank. I should be the one complaining tho we're paying $2.22/2.50 lt NZ on 98 so $5.64us gal

It does NOT burn "more efficiently"! It merely prevents engine knocking. If your engine is not knocking, and you add extra anti-knock ingredient, it is not going to get better MPG. The "placebo effect" is the scientific reason some "think" their engine runs better, smoother, gets better MPG, etc.

Kiwiryker, it's your bike, keep using the premium if you want. That's what I use and not about to change. Enjoy the ride.

If you have engine knocking then it's not burning efficiently. But I too don't get knocking using regular.

I'd be glad to get 33mpg, but I didn't buy it for the fuel economy. I bought it for the same free and open road feeling I get from a two wheeler that I can no longer safely operate
