Lanyard attaches to a zip-tie tightly installed onto the key. Lanyard is slightly taught attached to right side of handlebar, which prevents lanyard from "flapping in the breeze".

Your image did not load for me.

Which key are we talking about? RF D.E.S.S. key / parking brake lock key / helmet lock key / SHAD hard saddlebag key?

I guess you don't have a Ryker, as the have only ONE (1) key.

Anyone else not see the pic?

And like I said, when one takes delivery of a Ryker, and it has ONLY one (1) key, I think you should be able to guess what it is for!

Good idea. I have been trying to figure out something for mine as well. I'll try this out.

The ryker has multiple keys depending what accessories you have on it. So no, the ryker doesn't only have 1 key.

Besides that set-up looks dangerous.

It's a Lanyard wrapped on your handlebars. Does common sense elude you? I'm not going to sit here and explain how anything wrapped on a steering unit is a bad idea and can be dangerous. Whats the point anyway? So you don't forget your key? You'd be better off with something like a retractable ID holder attached to your belt loops. Or you can just not forget your key.

It is not "wrapped around", tight or otherwise. Ummm..... the handle bars move perfectly freely, and nothing remotely keeps them from doing so.

It super easily unplugs from itself in the middle of the loop too.

Huh? You cannot ride anywhere if you forgot your key! - hello?!
