				Gas fill cover

I live on a gravel and sand road , and anyone that does knows it gets everywhere. Sooner or later it will be in the tank.
I cut a piece out of an old thin mouse pad I had laying around, about 3x4 or so . I put a strip of two sided tape across the top, seals it right off. It just rolls up to put gas in.
Be safe and have fun

That's a great idea. I would have preferred they just did a simple gas cap

I put a wing nut on a lid from a jar of peanuts.
Such a weird design, in my opinion.

This is the way of the future apparently. Our new RV with Ford Transit chassis has a very similar thing; just a plastic flap that swings out to access the capless filler tube.
BTW: What does the wing nut attach to?

We completely agree... especially on the Rally model. Although the "capless" system is convenient for re-fueling it allows dirt and dust to build up in your fill zone. You don't want that stuff in your tank. We''ll have an aluminum "dust cap" here shortly, that features a center vent. I've attached an image for your perusal. It will of course be finished off with a black anodized finish to look pretty. We'll be doing a giveaway on the forum for a few free caps when they come out!

Is it self-venting?
+1 on the socket.

Update!!! My plastic cap failed. Apparently the wind seen in that area is enough to lift it out of place. I only went 50 MPH max. on a short trip, and it had been blown away. NOW I have a chromed metal cap (also from my kegerator), that fits great! I added a little handle in the middle made out of foam double stick tape that works well. I doubt wind will be able to lift metal!
