Fuel Pump Whine

#1 Post by Decon Blue » Fri Aug 09, 2019 8:31 pm

My Ryker is one of the ones that has the whining when hot and low on fuel. I have determined that if I fill the tank when the noise starts the whining goes away. Any thoughts on why this is happening ? Some have said their dealer has replaced pump, some have said noise returned after replacement, some even said they started running premium fuel and noise stopped. I feel it has to be the placement of the pump and possibly it vibrates when fuel level is lower. I see no change in performance from the noise, but it is very annoying and loud enough that other people look to see where the sound is coming from.

Fuel gauge seems poorly inaccurate. Mine doesn’t start moving till it’s at least half empty.

My 2019 ryker fuel pump makes the same noise and I took it back to the dealer. They said the fuel pump is bad and it's on back order until November. We just bought it the end of June and it only has 900 miles on it. This is a problem . The bike can stop running at any moment when you are on the road. I'm paying for a bike that I can't even ride. I don't recommend this bike to anyone. Be careful if you drive the bike with that noise.

I have not heard of a pump failing yet. Many are noisy but not heard of a failed one leaving anyone stranded.
Ride it and enjoy, you got free towing from Can Am for a year !!

Just sounds like a case of buyers remorse to me.
