Hi All,
I'm Centaur and planning to buy a Rally next Tue. I have a lot of two wheel experience and am concerned about such things as remembering not to counterstear or reach for brake and clutch levers. Any tips you may have otherwise will be appreciated.
I live in Upstate SC and enjoy riding the mountains and the BRP if anyone is interested in a meet-up or ride. Ride to eat, eat to ride. Camping at BR Motorcycle campground is also a possibility,

Update, Sat 3/2/19: took a test ride today and am sold. Did paperwork on a Rally and will pick it up Tue. Added sheild, rear case, and anti-sway bar. Got $450 off and 2.5% interest for 36 mos. Good deal but insurance is $700! More after pickup...

Congrats. Main thing you will have trouble with till you get used to it (which won't take long) is the brakes. Till you're used to it, start braking earlier than normal. Someone new to bikes won't have a problem but you will find yourself reaching for that lever for awhile. And the first few times you do and there's nothing there, will put you in panic mode for just an instant and then you'll remember the foot pedal. You'll get used to the foot pedal quickly, just have to think about it for the first week or so. Other than that. just enjoy and again Congrats.

Hi my Name is Roger located in central California. I am 76 years old and have ridden many bikes over the years. I purchased a new Indian Scout in August of last year and lost that bike to a fire in mid October. I was ready to pull the trigger on a new Rally until I checked the insurance costs. WOW, was I shocked at the price of insurance, Progressive quoted $2500 a year and the lowest cost of bare bones I could find was about $900 a year. I was paying less than $300 a year for the Indian. I am afraid that insurance companies will keep me from purchasing what looks like a very sweet ride.

I agree, something is wrong here. Maybe it is because I lost the Indian in a house fire last year. I will have to follow up with my agent.

Hi, this is Ron from Fort Worth, TX. New to the forum. Collecting info on the Ryker. Can't decide on the 900 or Rally. I have seen just about every video. The Rally throws alot of road grime and debris on the swing arm. Asked one dealer if I got the rally could they put the full fender on for me. The euro Ryker has extra head lights that are cool looking, but 600 dollars, not including shipping. Sorry, May 1 my birthday is my buy date hopefully!!!!! Doing riding course end of this month.

Hi everyone, the name is Alex, from Quebec, Canada,
Bought my 900 Ace Ryker a month ago but it's still sitting at the dealership waiting for the 6 to 7 feet of snow outside to melt. It may take up to 2 months to clear completely. Hoping following your forum will help me deal with my frustrations.

Just picked up my 900 Rally today!!! 20+ miles on 40° temps!! So worth it! This machine is fun and has so much pep!!

My name is Mike and I live in south Texas (south of Houston). Been riding 40 years and looking forward to 20 more. I am 72 years old and now have a 650 Burgman, It is for sale and buying a Ryker. I am getting too old to bike ride so a three wheeler is the next best thing. Had an RT several years ago and sold it like big dummy. I am still not sure if I am going with the 600 or 900. I am probably going with the 900 as the price is so close and what you get with the 900 is well worth the extra money and gas mileage. I will keep ya'll posted. Great to be here with so many Ryker owners and owners to be.

Hi Mike, Same story- Im in central Texas. I am 77 ,have a 650 Burgman also and bought a Ryker Rally 900 in january. It is so much fun to ride, you should love it. I was sold when they said its a CVT tranny. Read all the posts to get a lot of info. You have learning curve so pay attention. No coutersteering ,no handbrakes ,think car foot brake.
My learning curve was about 100 miles on back roads than I became one with the machine .lean in the corners and easy on the gas. Fun awaits you.
