I picked the 900 ace simply because i am used to riding 750 to 1000 cc motorcycles. I had a 600 honda shadow and i thought it was a dog. BUT, the 900 Ryker is a very quick trike. A vette could not get past me until we hit 70 mph. The Ryker is a bit scary on acceleration. After i break it in for 6-700 miles i might time it at a nearby track to see what it can do. the Ryker does not spin the rear tire, it just moves quickly.
The Ryker most certainly DOES spin the rear wheel in Sport Mode. I've done it myself and it is quite easy to see reviewers in videos doing exactly that. :ugeek:

I'm definitely going with the 900 because I prefer to have the power available to me if I need it, rather than need it but not have it.

Due to the 75 mph speeds here in Kansas and the longer distances to get anywhere, I'm going with the 900 Rally edition, with Haze gray panels and USN Tatoos!

I'm thinking the 900 rally model because it will be better on the gravel FM roads, with all the options it has on it.
At first I thought the 600 would do it but after buying a RAM Hemi pickup I realise that you can't have to much horsepower in a vehicle.
IMHO :D

UPDATE- JAn 21 bought a Rally 900. I was going to wait until september but when the dealer called and said they got two in and come look.I was hooked.
But-I think the 600 would fill most peoples needs if they never go on gravel roads or off road. I test rode a 600 and its very fast.So I'm not going to knock it.
It took about a hundred miles of slow twisty backroad riding. After that I melted into it and was totally comfortable on corners.
Lean body into left or right turn and you flout into the turn so to speak.
Learning curve---
Dont countersteer,its not a 2 wheeler.
Don't reach for a hand brake, its not their.
Do a lot of braking test to train your mind on the foot brake. think car.
I"m going to have so much fun it may be ilegal. :D :D

I rode across country on a 360T a few years ago :) I think a 600cc would be plenty. Yes it was 2 up riding. Yes I was much lighter and so was she. HOWEVER the price difference is not so much so... for me the gas mileage will be a BIG part of the decision. 60+- for the 600cc and ??? for the 900cc. Gas prices will go up again. I want to make the trip to the Barents sea in a year or so, gas mileage will be important, and I don't like carrying extra fuel, I do, I just don't like to. If I do a 900 it will be the Rally Edition.

Sorry to say there is no way the 600 is going to get 60mpg as the 900 is only getting 30

Hope springs eternal as they say. No I'm not really sure of the MPG's, just hoping that its at least 50. They (and we all know who they are) said due to the higher RPMs the 900 is getting about 35-42 MPGs depending on the weight of your hand... some heavy handed people like to light up the tire so not so good for gas mileage. I don't do that so, here's to hoping for 50+ for those getting the 600. :P

You mean there is a question about which to choose : )

Of course I got the 900. I think CanAm was wrong about why there is a need for the Ryker. I don't think It's about Ryker price vs the Spyder. I wanted something more naked, smaller, lighter and lower than the Spyder.

Have to agree with Grandpa, there probably won't be that much difference between the 600 & 900 MPG. You are right about 600 being 'enough' but there is the 'Oh shit, I could've had a V8' factor. That happens every time I buy the lower spec engine. I was happy until I tried the bigger one : )

But I do care about MPG too and I was disappointed that my first 75 mile ride (900 Rally) only gave me 27.6 mpg. There was a lot of accelerating from low speed just for break-in and fun and about 10 minutes of practicing track day turns in a safe area included in that ride so I really don't know what it will do on a normal trip.

I called my dealer and told him I 'm hooked on the 900 rally and looking forward to getting one. He said we got two in today still in the crate, come over and talk to me.
Short story, A 2019 canAm Riker Rally is now in my garage. I had tried out a 600 test ride they had the week before to get a feel on a three wheel motorcycle. I was hooked. I think a lot of fun is going to happen. :D :D :D

As for a 600 0r 900 choice its whatever fits your needs. I could only get the Rally adition in a 900 cc so that made my choice.
In 1986 I did a 8,200 mile ,2 month solo tour around the country on a R60/7 BMW. It was all the power I needed and 50 mpg.
I think the 600 will probably be the best seller as its so fast and a great buy money wise. IMHO
